rule of the bone #5

Rule of the Bone is a coming of age novel, hidden among bad grammar, and profanity, only to be accompinied by the sad yet compelling story of an early teenager.

One example of this coming of age novel starts with his introduction as Chappie, His inability to operate without weed and his constant coinage of his grandmothers coins shows the life of a deranged young man leading the life of an early criminal. Everything but normal Chappie is still trying to find himself in this world, yet every step he's taken thus far has a been a step backward if looked upon in a God like (omniscent) way.
Another example of chappie growing up was when he "transformed into Bone. This took place as chappie got the tattoo of two bones in the shape of an X on his forearm. This transformation led to his first real dive into the criminal life. He and Russ stole a car, which they ended up selling to crack heads for money. Which then lead to the break in at the ridgeways house. Two serious crimes since he made his move into the world of Bone.
The final and probably the greatest change in Chappies coming of age story was the fateful day he met I-man. I-Man was a father figure to Chappie, He taught him how to cook, taught him the way of the rasta. And even if chappie was still bone, He had a real family with Rose and I-Man. Not only was he being cared for, he was caring for Rose. He had to be an adult for once and due to his encounters thus far with Rose and I-man Chappie made his first real step in a positive direction.

I've felt this way when i had to stay home by myself for the first time when i was  i felt empowered like i could do anything i wanted at my house, have friends over maybe even a party like all the cool highschoolers did. Yet i didn't i realized in that same instant with great power come great responsibility. Till this day i tend to respect those people with such power. Not because of what they have, but because of the feelings they have to hold back
